Gratitude Is Not A Fire Extinguisher

Gratitude is great, but it can't help you put out the big fires in your life.

I kept a gratitude journal for a long time, mostly because Oprah told me to.

Every night and every morning I faithfully wrote down ten things I could feel grateful for, hoping that somehow it would shift my life from one of scarcity, fear and abject terror into abundance and love.

But it didn't. In fact, it actually made me feel worse.

I was in a dark place, and the only things I could genuinely feel grateful for were things like breathing. For me, it was keeping me stuck, and since then I've heard from a lot of women who said the same thing.

Eventually, I was able to elevate myself out of that low place, and be able to create a life for myself that's full of things I can easily feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for.

But that gratitude practice, wasn't the thing that got me there.

In this episode I show you how I did it, so you can too.

In this episode I'll show you how I made that shift from lack to abundance, and show you why trying to force yourself into a state of gratitude might not be such a great idea.
